I think the problems I have listed with the Dora are also found on more expensive electric vehicles built for 3-6 year olds. When you compare this vehicle with others, especially comparing costs, it is a good buy. The surge of power at take-off will frighten some youngsters and may make them reluctant to drive it until they overcome its effects and learn to not fully engage the accelerator pedal at take-off. The throttle tip-in is aggressive, not smooth and linear. The two front seats are positioned back far enough to allow room for growth, however, shorter three year olds may have difficulty reaching the accelerator pedal. This problem will likely disappear as they age. Most 3-year olds with average hand and arm strength will have some trouble steering the vehicle. The diameter of the tires is relatively small, causing difficulty to traverse rougher terrain. The fit and finish of the vehicle is excellent considering the cost. The battery and drive train are equal to those kid's vehicles costing considerably more. The Dora the Explorer 12V vehicle is well-built and reliable.
